Economic Importance of Tourism:
That tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and is the main source of the foreign exchange earnings of many developing countries. The economic importance of the tourism industry is due to its investment capital. The tourism industry is the main factor in the basic environment of an economy in terms of marketing, Planning and strengthening economic ties between countries (Bakri 2004 79)
There are a number of factors that increase the importance of tourism as an industry and source of national income for countries:
A. Economic impacts:
It is a source of income where it is distributed to all sectors related to the tourism activity of transport, utilities, services and others.
Tourism is an expanding market due to the steady increase in the income of individuals, especially in developed countries.
Tourism requires relatively low financial investment compared to other productive sectors.
The tourist product is mainly based on services and non-material resources that do not generate returns other than tourist uses such as climate, monuments and others.
Tourism is an effective tool for the development and development of other industries, leading to improved living standards.
Increase the growth of tourism and its areas and development and economic recovery as a result of what visitors spend.
Creating jobs is different, easing the unemployment crisis and raising the standard of living.
Raise the rates of work for the various accommodation centers throughout the year.
B. Economic Characteristics: (Obidat 2008 26)
The price of tourist products does not change in large quantities due to fluctuations in demand, especially in the short and medium term as compared to consumer goods. Also, the services before the overnight in the hotel or the chair in the plane can not be stored. These goods are called non-storage goods, The rise and fall in demand is short-term as this does not affect demand at the price level and in the long-term volatility it determines the level of demand for tourism products and their prices.
Integration: It is known that tourism products are not one service alone, but include a number of complementary sub-services such as total service production and the quality of related auxiliary services that complement the service itself are essential to the success of the service. Failure and negligence in one of these sub-services may reduce Of the value of the final tourist product, which is one of the most difficult points to be addressed when drawing the policies of the tourism sector in this country or that.
The difference is that the tourist product has the advantage of variation because it is scientifically impossible to produce identical tourist products because there will always be a difference in quality even if we assume that the physical characteristics of the tourist service are identical.
