According to the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Karbala has obtained institutional accreditation. The letter stated that “with reference to the approval of His Excellency the Honorable Minister of the minutes of meeting No. 38 of the Institutional Accreditation Council and the powers granted to the Council under Ministerial Order No. 299 on 3/13/2023, it was decided to grant the University of Karbala institutional accreditation.”
The Ministry stressed “the necessity for the university to commit to implementing the relevant provisions stipulated within the policies and procedures of the Council.”
For his part, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, praised the efforts of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, in addition to the contribution of university staff, professors and employees, in achieving excellence and their keenness to raise the name and status of the university at the local and international levels.
It is noteworthy that institutional accreditation is granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to the academic institution that has met the scientific standards set by the Ministry. The most important of these standards is that the university has effective systems to ensure quality and continuous improvement of its academic activities in accordance with published controls.
