Operational definition of sports tourism

Sports tourism means participating in various sports or practicing a specific type of sport. The participant may be a player or a spectator. This type of tourism includes those who are an important sector of the total number of tourists, in practicing sports such as hunting trips in specific places and during certain periods of the year, or practicing water sports, or skiing or climbing heights or participating or watching sports tournaments and festivals. It also means traveling and moving from one place to another in order to participate in some courses and tournaments and enjoy various sports activities. We find it represented in practicing the sport of climbing, and its practice requires the availability of its special components, in addition to playgrounds, halls and swimming pools if the purpose is to hold international courses and competitions.
