The tourism movement has recently become a huge international phenomenon closely linked to the rate of human progress and his ability to exploit his free time and increase his production and what returns to him with progress and prosperity, in addition to being a standard for the progress of international relations in all aspects of economic and social life due to the amount of interaction it provides between the peoples of the world and its different civilizations and the exchange of knowledge and the achievement of tolerance and the dissemination of the concept of world peace in light of the many political tensions in our world today, which has witnessed a great expansion of the concept of global terrorism and the undermining of the principle of human rights between the worlds of the North and the South. The nature of the social dimension provided by tourism in its general content through the convergence of the intellectual structure of many cultures and the succession of civilizations and their convergence to a meaning with a human dimension (instinctive), the nature of the pleasure of exploration and the convergence of viewpoints between different religions and nationalities is a basic pillar of the pillars of the contemporary human thought movement, in addition to the economic dimension that has come to dominate the sectors of international tourism in its various forms.
The expansion of the tourism movement and the overlap of its social, economic and even political functions on the one hand, and the urgent need for it by humans as the only recreational activity that can alleviate human intellectual and psychological burdens and transfer them to a world dominated by the principle of renewal, comfort and temporary pleasure on the other hand, made it an international phenomenon that transcends the concept of political borders of countries, which made the amount of tourism’s contribution (10%) of the total global product, equivalent to (3.4) trillion dollars until the end of the last century, and it also provided approximately (7%) of local global jobs, so that its contribution would be approximately (7) trillion dollars in investing in the infrastructure associated with the global tourism and travel industry.
