Tourism media has a significant and vital role in attracting tourism through various media or promotions in print, audio, visual media, conferences, exhibitions, films, publications, etc. From various media, the individual obtains the information that usually reaches him in the form of news about tourist facts and information that the tourist is interested in, in addition to the possibility of using various materials from films, series, and programs that are shown in audio and visual media in tourism promotion and creating a good image of the tourist destination even if they were not produced primarily for tourism promotion.
The media is of great importance in raising people’s cultural levels and improving the performance of individuals in their jobs. The media also gives us tremendous authority to do whatever we want in society. It can help raise and improve its level, or it can work to destroy it.
Through studies, many writers and researchers have confirmed the strong relationship between the media and tourism development in various fields. This (Rogers) confirms (that the media are the essential resources of societies that quickly seek tourism development if exploited and managed well).
Thus, he sees that the media’s essential role is providing the appropriate tourism development climate.
He is supported in this by (Lerner) who says (that the media is a considerable element that doubles tourism development by teaching people to participate in new and strange positions and improving their knowledge of opinions so that they can choose between them).
