The Shawia Depression is located east of the Salman District Center, 35 km away, near the paved road linking the Salman District Center and the Basiya District. The depression, which has an area of 500 hectares, is characterized by distinctive geographical characteristics, as its surface consists of alluvial and clay sediments that were transported by rain torrents from the high hills surrounding it from three sides and then became a collection of rainwater during the rainy season. The land of the depression has become a habitat for local and migratory birds and wild animals. Among its most important plants are (wild jujube), a suitable food source for raising beehives, along with other types of plants found in it. The Shawia Depression is characterized by beautiful and meaningful views that form a suitable environment for ecotourism. (Aboud, 2020)
