Emirates has 208 Boeing 777 aircraft on delivery

Emirates has confirmed its order for 150 new Boeing 777X aircraft, which it signed at the 2013 Dubai Airshow, and both the carrier and the company announced that they had recently reached a final agreement on an order for 150 777X aircraft, worth $56 billion, according to the company. This order from the world’s largest operator of 777 aircraft, which was announced for the first time as a commitment at the 2013 Dubai Airshow, is part of the largest aircraft launch in the history of the commercial aircraft industry.

The terms of this order, which includes 115 “777-9X” aircraft and 35 “777-8X” aircraft, include the rights to purchase 50 additional aircraft, where the value of the order will increase if this item is applied to about $75 billion according to the published prices.

In this context, Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, said: “With this order for 150 777X aircraft, Emirates will now have 208 Boeing 777 aircraft in delivery, which will contribute to securing a large number of job opportunities in the chain of supply.

Today, Emirates Airlines operates more than one out of every 10 Boeing 777 aircraft built. We currently have 138 of this exceptional model in service around the world, starting from the United States of America and Latin America in the West, all the way to New Zealand and Japan in the East.

 

The 777X aircraft will provide us with greater operational flexibility in terms of range, in addition to greater passenger capacity, and greater fuel efficiency, and we look forward to including these aircraft in our fleet starting in 2020.”
