This department is of great importance because it reflects the extent of guests’ satisfaction with the cleanliness and arrangement of the rooms, public places and restaurants in the hotel, as the employees work around the clock and this department performs several tasks, including:
A- It is assigned the task of cleaning and arranging the guests’ rooms in addition to the employees’ offices.
B- Cleaning the public places in the hotel.
C- Requesting and supervising the process of providing the hotel with the necessary equipment, tools and equipment.
D- Writing reports, revenues and department expense schedules.
3- Food and Beverage Department
This department is considered one of the productive departments in hotels as it generates revenue for the hotel as a result of the operation process, as it meets the guest’s needs for food and drink. There are some hotels in which this department works around the clock and has a close relationship with room service as it cooperates with it to meet the guests’ needs for food and drink. (Alwan, 31:2009)
4- Human Resources Department
It is considered one of the main departments in the hotel, as it manages the employees working in it and sets general and special policies and adheres to and works with the regulations in force internally and externally. Its tasks are summarized in the recruitment and training process, attracting and terminating employees’ services, ending employee benefits and benefits programs, and direct contact with the labor union.
5- Sales and Marketing Department
This department aims to identify the needs and desires of customers and work to meet them, not to mention increasing the market share of the hotel, in addition to contacting tourism and travel offices and companies and working to attract guests and conclude contracts with them.
6- Maintenance Department
This department often works behind the eyes of the guests. Its function revolves around continuing to provide maintenance services to the facilities in general, and preparing and maintaining fixed assets for the purpose of their sustainability and benefiting from them in the long term by the guest.
7- Security Department: Its function is to maintain the internal security of the hotel and the safety of guests and workers alike.
8- Stores and Purchasing Department: It has direct contact with all hotel departments, as it is responsible for purchasing and storing the goods that the hotel departments need in the operation and management process.
9- Financial Department and Accounts Management (Alwan, 32:2009)
This department follows up and continuously inspects the hotel departments, as it records:
A- Revenue accounts.
B- Expense accounts.
C- Salary accounts.
