Food and beverage sector services and complementary services are represented by the following (Al-Masry, 227: 2000)
1- Food and beverage service: It includes purchasing, producing and serving food and beverages. This service generates significant revenues for hotels, is considered a factor in attracting guests, and its goal is to obtain an appropriate profit, and provide a complementary service to the accommodation service.
2- Party and conference service: By renting hotel halls for the purpose of holding conferences or parties, many hotels have come to depend on the revenues of this section, which generates profits for the hotel of up to 40% of the hotel’s profits. In addition to the essential services that the customer receives, there are other services that support the basic service, which is known as the complementary service and includes the following: (Al-Masry, 228: 2000)
1- Tourism protection services: It is considered one of the complementary services provided by the hotel, as most hotels, especially upscale hotels, have swimming pools that hotel guests can use.
2- Fitness services and gyms: Some hotels provide gyms that are equipped with all the necessary equipment, hotel guests can Use it, and this type of service is often in sports hotels where athletes reside.
3- Marketing services: Some hotels have shopping stores that contain international brands, as well as gift shops selling traditional antiques specific to the area in which the hotel is located.
4- Entertainment services: The hotel sometimes organizes artistic evenings and entertainment activities for its guests.
From the above, we conclude that the quality of hotel service provided is one of the important ways to advance the sector, as it provides guests with comfort and facilities when purchasing and consuming hotel services during their stay at the hotel, and it also leads to success and customer satisfaction, considering that the services are well received by customers.
