The importance of tourism marketing

The importance of marketing in general has increased after the industrial revolution and the accompanying increase in production and development in means of transportation and communication, which brought markets closer together and increased the intensity of competition and the importance of intermediaries or establishments that undertake the task of distribution emerged.

What justifies the increasing interest in tourism and encouraging it and providing it with various facilities is that it is a permanent resource that can be increased and is not subject to depletion like natural resources.

Tourism marketing strategies are important for many reasons. First, they help create awareness and interest in the tourist destination and enhance its reputation in the travel market. Second, they help identify the target audience and develop marketing messages appropriate to this audience, which increases the chances of attracting targeted visitors.

In addition, tourism marketing strategies contribute to developing attractive and innovative tourism products, improving the tourist experience and meeting their needs and expectations. They also play a crucial role in enhancing the destination’s tourism competitiveness and increasing tourist demand for it.
In fact, there are many reasons that make us resort to successful tourism marketing, the most important of which are:
1- Successful tourism marketing achieves a balance between the best quality of services provided to the tourist and the acceptable cost of these services.
2- Successful tourism marketing attracts customers and makes them continue to choose our services.
3- Tourism marketing accurately identifies the audience and the targeted customer category, which leads to directing appropriate services to them and dedicating our efforts to satisfying them.
Increasing profits and financial returns after attracting more customers and satisfying previous customers.
4- Successful and thoughtful tourism marketing leads to excellence in this field, which means a better reputation and wider fame, and successful tourism marketing may result in advanced stages of uniqueness and monopoly in the field.
5- Tourism marketing can achieve the desired goals in the field of tourism in a shorter time and thus achieve a wider spread in regions and services.
