It occupies an area of 1000 hectares. It is a floodplain in the middle of a plateau surrounded by hills. There is a self-flowing water well that runs in the form of a small stream, forming a shallow swamp with sulfurous water that irrigates the flooded land, which makes it a suitable place for biodiversity, as it is considered a genetic stock that constitutes a source for scientific and economic studies, which qualified it to comply with the national specifications for natural reserves from the Cabinet Resolution of 2014. Among its most critical biodiversity are a group of birds, including (Marzah Al-Bataeh, Al-Hawam, and Al-Ablaq) and several plant species, including papyrus.
